Singapore is set to play an even greater role in Asia-Pacific cruise tourism following Princess Cruises’ announcement of a new three-year strategic partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). The agreement significantly expands the cruise line’s presence in the city-state and reinforces Singapore’s status as one of the most important cruise gateways in Asia.

Under the partnership, Princess Cruises will deploy three ships—Diamond Princess, Sapphire Princess, and Grand Princess—from Singapore, creating one of the company’s largest regional commitments in recent years. The expansion forms part of a broader strategy that aims to increase cruise capacity, strengthen regional connectivity, and attract more international visitors through extended voyages across Asia.

The announcement highlights Singapore’s growing importance as a homeport destination, where travelers begin and end their cruise holidays. As Asia’s cruise market continues to evolve, Singapore remains strategically positioned due to its world-class infrastructure, international air connectivity, and proximity to some of the region’s most popular tourism destinations.

Three Princess Ships Expand Regional Cruise Capacity
The deployment of Diamond Princess, Sapphire Princess, and Grand Princess represents a significant investment in Southeast Asian cruise tourism. By basing multiple ships in Singapore, Princess Cruises will be able to offer a broader range of itineraries while increasing overall capacity in the region.
